This crimson-hued Munich Helles reimagines the style through a complex grist and oak aging. The use of Red X malt and Red Crystal Rye malt creates a unique deep-red visual profile accompanied by toasted, grainy sweetness and a subtle spicy depth. A delicate addition of Sugar Creek Stjørdal Nordic Alder wood smoked barley malt introduces a whisper of clean, campfire smoke. Hand-selected Hallertau Mittelfrueh and Sultana hops blend classic floral and herbal notes with modern suggestions of pineapple and pine. Aged in American oak foeders, the beer achieves a smooth, rounded palate with faint wood tannins, finishing soft and dry with a exceptionally clean fermentation character.
Appearance. Distinctive brilliant crimson color (SRM 12–15); clear clarity with a persistent, creamy, off-white head that exhibits excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate grainy-sweet malt presence with a light toasted character and spicy rye notes. Low herbal and floral hop aroma from the Hallertau Mittelfrueh is layered with subtle pineapple and citrus notes from the Sultana. A very low, pleasant wisp of alder wood smoke and a hint of oaky vanilla are present. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial moderately malty start with grainy sweetness and toasted bread notes followed by a light rye spiciness. Low spicy and floral hop flavors are balanced by modern tropical hints. Bitterness is low to medium-low, supporting the malt without becoming aggressive. The finish is soft and dry with a lingering, subtle smoky complexity and clean, well-lagered aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-lagered character. Moderate carbonation. Very low oak-derived tannins provide a slight rounding effect without astringency. No noticeable alcohol warmth.
