Tipping Point is a saturated Double IPA that expertly balances modern hop intensity with a clean, drinkable finish. Driven by a trio of Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy, and Vic Secret hops, the sensory profile is dominated by expressive layers of ripe cantaloupe, pineapple, and lush tropical fruits. A distinct candied spruce tip resonance provides a resinous counterpoint to the fruit, while a smooth dankness and hints of fresh hay add earthy complexity. The beer showcases a lean malt structure that supports its high strength without introducing heaviness, resulting in a vibrant, hop-forward experience that finishes with a refined, lingering bitterness.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent white head and excellent lacing; clarity is mostly clear with a very slight, modern chill haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, white grape, and crushed lime from the Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops. Secondary notes of spruce resin, melon, and a subtle, clean, grainy malt sweetness in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and ripe melon. High hop flavor mirrors the aroma with candied spruce and dank, herbal notes. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but lacks harshness. The malt character is low and neutral, providing just enough support for the hop-forward balance. Finishes dry and clean with a long-lasting fruity and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A restrained, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
