This Double IPA presents a vivid sensory tapestry driven by a heavy-hitting hop blend. Intensely aromatic, the Citra and Riwaka hops lead with punchy grapefruit and passion fruit notes, while Kohatu contributes underlying pine and tropical pineapple. Pacifica adds a nuanced layer of orange marmalade. The sensory profile is supported by a clean, neutral malt base that stays out of the way of the massive hop saturation. It drinks remarkably smoothly for its strength, offering a firm but refined bitterness that clears the palate, finishing dry with a lingering resonance of New Zealand hop oil and citrus zest.

Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with good lacing. Clarity is mostly clear with a very slight haze common in modern dry-hopped versions.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma. Dominant notes of pink grapefruit, lime zest, and passion fruit are layered over tropical pineapple and subtle orange marmalade. Malt character is low and neutral, providing a grainy, cracker-like background. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical and citrus oils. Flavors of mango and grapefruit pith dominate, followed by a light, resinous pine. The malt flavor is low, soft, and unobtrusive, serving only to support the hops. High bitterness that is firm but clean and lacking harshness. Finish is dry and crisp with a long-lasting, hoppy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high. Provides a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth appropriate for its strength without any astringency.
