This Hazy Double IPA presents an intense aromatic profile driven by a foundational MEGA blend of Mosaic and Citra, bolstered by the resinous depth of Chinook and the stone fruit vibrancy of Nectaron. Expect a sensory journey starting with bright citrus and zesty grapefruit upfront, transitioning into complex layers of dank pine and sticky resin. Despite its 8.5% strength, the palate remains remarkably smooth, showcasing tropical depth without cloying heaviness. It concludes with a balanced, dry finish that emphasizes hop saturation over malt sweetness, delivering a sophisticated take on the modern, high-gravity hop experience.
Appearance. Opaque and hazy, pale gold to light orange; thick, creamy white head with excellent persistence and dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of tropical fruit (pineapple, mango) and stone fruit from Nectaron, combined with the signature blueberry and citrus of Mosaic and Citra; a secondary layer of dank, resinous pine from Chinook is prominent. Low, clean, bready malt in the background.
Taste. Bold citrus and grapefruit flavors lead, followed quickly by a wave of tropical peach and passionfruit. The mid-palate introduces a sharp, resinous dankness and woody pine. Bitterness is firm but soft-edged, balancing a clean, pale malt base. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering citrus peel aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no astringency.
