Modern Times Geodesic is an assertive Specialty IPA that balances intriguing complexity with high drinkability. A substantial addition of wheat creates a smooth, velvety canvas for a massive hop profile featuring Mosaic, Amarillo, and Experimental 331. The aroma is dominated by a mountain of tropical fruit and resinous pine, complemented by subtle, supportive notes of toasted bread and light chocolate. On the palate, bold flavors of mango, citrus, and berry clash beautifully with a restrained roasted malt character. Despite its 7.5% ABV, it remains refreshing, finishing dry with a firm, clean bitterness that highlights the unique synergy between its dark malts and vibrant, modern hops.
Appearance. Dark brown to nearly black in color; clear with a persistent, light tan head that leaves moderate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and resinous pine from the Mosaic and Amarillo hops; very low to moderate malt presence with hints of toasted bread and light chocolate.
Taste. Initial impression of bold tropical fruit and resinous hop flavor; medium-high bitterness provides an assertive punch. Low malt flavors of light chocolate and toast support the hops without becoming burnt or ashy. Finishes dry and clean with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
