Seidekunst presents a lush, concentrated sensory journey, embodying the essence of a traditional Melomel crafted with an uncompromising approach using only honey and juice. The profile is dominated by a deep, multifaceted dark berry character—evoking blackcurrants and forest fruits—interwoven with the rich, floral sweetness of premium honey. Its intensity is palpable, offering a velvety, viscous texture that carries both tart fruit acidity and decadent honeyed notes. This 12% ABV elixir balances its high sweetness with the natural tannins of the berry skins, resulting in a complex, spirit-like depth that lingers with a warm, fruity resonance, perfectly suited for contemplative sipping.

Appearance. Deep, opaque garnet to midnight purple with ruby highlights. Completely still with no head or carbonation; exhibits heavy, slow-moving legs and significant staining of the glass due to high fruit concentration.

Aroma. High intensity and extraordinarily rich. Dominant notes of ripe dark berries—blackcurrant, blackberry, and perhaps elderberry—are layered over a thick, floral honey base. Subtle hints of jammy fruit leather and a clean, well-integrated alcohol warmth; no fermentation byproducts or off-flavors.

Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and fruit-forward. Massive dark berry flavors provide a sharp, tarter edge that prevents the honey from being cloying. The honey character is rich and complex, reminiscent of wildflower or forest honey. No hop bitterness; tannin from the dark berries provides a structural substitute for bitterness. The finish is long, sweet, and lingering, with a deep fruit preserve aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and highly viscous, bordering on syrupy due to the absence of water. Low to no carbonation (still). Notable alcohol warmth that is smooth rather than harsh. A light fruit-skin astringency provides a pleasant counterpoint to the heavy body.
