Bazooka presents an assertive sensory profile that justifies its name, opening with an explosive, high-intensity aroma of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and tropical mango. This Double IPA appears brilliantly gold with a persistent white foam. On the palate, it delivers a sharp, clean bitterness that defines its character, balanced by a lean, neutral malt backbone that ensures a deceptively dangerous drinkability. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, stripping away sweetness to leave a lingering trail of citrus oils and resin. It is a bold, hop-forward experience that prioritizes clarity of flavor and a firm, mercenary bitterness without the weight of heavy caramel malts.
Appearance. Gold to deep gold in color (approx. 7-9 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, citrus zest, and ripe tropical fruits. Low, neutral maltiness provides a clean background, while a light, smooth alcohol note and subtle fruity esters are present.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of grapefruit, pine needles, and tropical fruit lead into a moderately high to aggressive hop bitterness. The malt character is low, clean, and supportive, lacking significant caramel. The finish is very dry with a lingering, clean hoppy aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, though it remains highly drinkable with no hop-derived astringency.
