This English Barley Wine presents a decadent sensory profile defined by its thirteen-month rest in Stagg Jr. bourbon barrels. A massive malt backbone provides deep layers of toffee, rich caramel, and toasted biscuit, complemented by a complex bouquet of dried figs and raisins. The extended barrel aging introduces prominent notes of charred oak, spicy vanillin, and a whisper of coconut, which integrate seamlessly with the base beer's dark fruit character. A refined, earthy hop presence stays in the background, allowing the velvety texture and assertive warmth of the high alcohol content to take center stage. It finishes with a lingering, vinous complexity reminiscent of fine port.
