Milagritos presents a rustic, terroir-driven interpretation of an American Pale Ale, rooted in the Ribera de Duero landscape. Brewed with local barley and local hops from the Burgos province, it offers a distinct sense of place through its emphasis on natural well water and craft methods. The local malt provides a supportive base of bready and lightly toasted notes, while the local hops contribute a moderate floral and resinous bitterness. Bottle-conditioning lends a natural effervescence and a characteristic soft haze. At 6.5% ABV, it carries slightly more presence than typical examples, resulting in a balanced, artisanal experience with a clean, lingering finish.
Appearance.Deep golden to light amber (SRM 7-10). The beer is hazy with visible sediment due to being unfiltered and bottle-conditioned. It features a moderately large, off-white head with good retention and light lacing.
Aroma.Moderate to moderately-high intensity. The aroma is characterized by floral and slightly spicy hop notes from the local varieties, supported by a low to moderate bready and grainy malt character. Very low fruity esters are present, alongside a clean fermentation profile with a hint of yeast-derived complexity from the bottle conditioning.
Taste. The initial impression is balanced between a firm hop bitterness and a supportive malt backbone. Flavors of fresh grain and toasted bread reflect the local malt, while the hop profile delivers floral and resinous notes. The bitterness is moderate to high but well-integrated. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering hop flavor and bitterness that remains smooth without becoming harsh.
Mouthfeel.Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture from the yeast in suspension. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a lively mouthfeel typical of bottle-conditioned ales. A very light, subtle alcohol warmth is perceptible given the 6.5% ABV.
