The addition of chipotle introduces a distinct smoky earthiness and a gentle, building heat that weaves through the malt richness. Substrate vanilla provides a smoothing, creamy counterpoint to the charred roast, while American hops contribute a subtle resinous bite. The result is a complex sensory journey that finishes with a lingering, warming harmony of smoke and cocoa.

Appearance. Deep ebony to black (SRM 38), opaque in the glass with slight ruby highlights at the edges. Crowns with a thick, persistent tan head that leaves dense lacing.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of dark chocolate and roasted coffee malt notes. The chipotle presents as a distinct smoky and earthy aroma, complemented by a moderate sweet vanilla undertone. Low resinous and citrusy hop character is perceptible behind the spice and roast.

Taste. Initial impression of rich dark chocolate and toasted bread, followed quickly by the smoky, slightly fruity flavor of chipotle.
