The aroma is dominated by Citra’s signature notes of grapefruit and mango, seamlessly layered with the distinct mandarin zest and fresh pine resin attributed to the Eclipse hops. On the palate, the hop intensity remains high, supported by a clean, grainy malt backbone that allows the bright citrus and tropical fruit flavors to shine. A firm, crisp bitterness leads into a dry, lingering finish, making for a refreshing and aromatically complex celebration of modern New World hops.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber (approx. 8 SRM) with a clear presentation, though a very slight haze is acceptable. It features a medium-sized, persistent white head with good lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, and tropical mango, with a distinct cool pine and resinous undertone. Very low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hops with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Bold hop flavors reflecting citrus peel, sweet mandarin, and stone fruit. Medium-high hop bitterness provides a firm structure against a low, slightly toasty, grainy malt background. The balance is decidedly hop-forward, finishing dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop resins. Medium-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A very subtle, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
