This celebratory American IPA presents a vibrant hop-forward profile, showcasing the classic citrus and floral notes of Amarillo hops. Despite its session-strength character at 4.5% ABV, it retains a distinct complexity thanks to the addition of Rye malt, which introduces a crisp, spicy undertone to the grainy malt backbone. The sensory experience is defined by a bright, punchy hop intensity and a clean fermentation profile that allows the interplay between citrus zest and peppery rye to shine. A firm bitterness leads into a dry, refreshing finish, making it an approachable yet characterful tribute to five years of nomadic brewing collaboration.
Appearance. Medium gold with a slight copper tint. Topped by a persistent, medium-sized off-white head that leaves delicate lacing. Clarity is generally clear, though a faint, hop-derived haze may be present.
Aroma. High hop intensity dominated by Amarillo characteristics of orange marmalade, grapefruit, and fresh floral notes. A supportive, low grainy maltiness is present, uniquely accented by a distinct spicy, peppery quality from the Rye malt. Clean fermentation with virtually no esters.
Taste. Assertive Amarillo hop flavors of citrus zest and floral spice take center stage. The malt profile is lean and grainy, featuring the signature spicy and slightly earthy flavor of Rye. Bitterness is medium-high, providing a crisp counterpoint to the malt. The finish is dry and clean, with a lingering hoppy and spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly crisp texture enhanced by the rye grain. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is negligible, ensuring high drinkability.
