Polymorphe is a refined expression of the Czech Dark Lager style, skillfully balancing a complex malt profile with the noble character of Saaz hops. Despite its sessionable 4.5% ABV, it offers a deep sensory experience, leading with aromas of toasted bread crusts, cola, and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, the Saaz hops impart a signature spicy and herbal counterpoint to rich Maillard-driven flavors of roasted nuts and subtle licorice. The experience is smooth and medium-bodied, marrying the elegance of a clean lager fermentation with the depth of darker grains for a crisp, harmonious finish.
Appearance. SRM 28–35. Deep mahogany to near-black color with brilliant garnet highlights when held to the light. Large, persistent tan head with fine-textured foam and excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Rich, deep malt notes of toasted bread, caramel, and milk chocolate. Distinctive spicy and slightly floral Saaz hop aroma. Very low fruity esters resembling plum or dark berries.
Taste. Complex malt dominance featuring layers of caramel, toasted nuts, and a light, sweetened coffee roast character. Moderate spicy hop flavor. Bitterness is medium-low, providing a balanced, off-dry finish. Low notes of licorice and dark fruit emerge as it warms, ending with a clean, malty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, moderately creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift on the tongue. No perceptible alcohol warmth; very high drinkability with zero astringency.
