Imperial Stout 10 º
This Imperial Stout presents a commanding sensory profile, defined by its maturation in oak barrels. The experience begins with an inviting display of persistent coffee and fine cocoa notes, seamlessly integrated with the deep, caramel-like sweetness of brown sugar. Its elevated strength provides a structural backbone that carries these intense flavors through a remarkably long and suave finish. Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Topped with an abundant, dense, deep tan head with excellent retention and thick lacing. High viscosity is visible through prominent legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Rich roasted malt provides dominant notes of espresso and dark chocolate, complemented by brown sugar sweetness and a subtle oak-driven vanilla. Low dark fruit esters like raisin and prune are present. Hop aroma is very low, allowing the barrel and roast character to lead.
Taste. Bold initial impression of bittersweet cocoa and roasted coffee. The mid-palate reveals layers of molasses and brown sugar supported by a firm hop bitterness that prevents cloying. Nuanced oak tannins and a hint of vanilla emerge toward the back. The finish is incomparable and long, harmoniously balanced between roasted dryness and malt sweetness with a lingering espresso aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth spreads across the palate, remaining well-integrated and never sharp.
