Colibri D’Anna is a vibrant, low-alcohol expression of an American IPA, crafted with 100% Quebec-grown ingredients. Despite its delicate stature, it delivers an expressive sensory profile driven by a blend of local hops from Houblons des Jarrets Noirs and Houblon Bastien. Pronounced aromas of tropical fruit and bright citrus lead the way, followed by subtle floral undertones. The malt backbone, featuring grains from Malterie Caux-Laflamme and Malterie Le Maltraiteur, provides a clean, grainy base that allows the hop-forward character to shine through. It finishes exceptionally dry and crisp, offering the hop intensity of a classic IPA in a remarkably light, refreshing package.
Appearance. Medium gold (6 SRM) with a slight haze. Features a medium-sized, white head with moderate persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant notes of tropical pineapple and mango, accompanied by zesty lemon peel and soft wildflower notes. A very low, clean, grainy malt presence from the local malts provides a neutral base.
Taste. Initial flavors of citrus zest and passion fruit transition into a firm, medium-high bitterness. The mid-palate reveals a light, crackery malt character. The finish is very dry and clean, leaving a lingering, resinous hop bitterness and a touch of floral perfume in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light body with a crisp, thin texture. High carbonation provides a lively, scrubbing mouthfeel. No alcohol warmth is present, resulting in a highly refreshing and sessionable character.
