Anime 2024 is a sophisticated Italian Grape Ale that captures the essence of the Abruzzo region through the heavy integration of Pecorino grapes. This vintage presents a luminous gold hue, leading with an aromatic profile where the grape’s influence is unmistakable, offering notes of white flowers, ripe pear, and a hint of sage. The palate is defined by the stone fruit character of the grape must, supported by a lean Pilsner malt base that provides a crisp, cracker-like foundation. A refreshing, wine-like acidity cuts through the medium-light body, culminating in an elegant, bone-dry finish that mirrors the herbal and mineral complexity of a fine Pecorino wine.
Appearance. SRM 5-7. Deep gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderate white head that shows medium-low retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity grape-forward aroma featuring pear, apricot, and floral jasmine. Low cracker-like malt sweetness. Hop aroma is absent to very low, with a faint earthy quality. No diacetyl or significant fermentation phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is of bright, wine-like fruitiness including peach and tropical pineapple. Very low bitterness (approx. 10-15 IBU). Malt is supportive and neutral. A light, refreshing lactic-like acidity from the grape must enhances the drinkability. Finish is very dry and clean with a lingering mineral aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that creates a spritzy, champagne-like effervescence. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth at 7% ABV. Low astringency.
