Metalhead Violent Hopsification
Metalhead's Violent Hopsification is a high-impact Hazy IPA that channels the intensity of its crossover thrash inspiration into a lush, tropical sensory experience. This hoppy bomb pours with a characteristic opaque glow, delivering a massive aromatic punch of pineapple, mango, and passion fruit, further amplified by the addition of actual tropical fruits. The palate follows suit with a saturated, juicy fruit character supported by a soft, bready malt base. It maintains the style's hallmark smoothness, offering a creamy mouthfeel and a restrained bitterness that allows the vibrant, fruit-forward profile to resonate through a clean, off-dry finish.
Appearance. Deep straw to golden-orange (4-7 SRM); opaque, uniform haze with a luminous shine. Topped by a dense, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by a complex melange of tropical fruit, including mango, guava, and pineapple, accented by citrus zest. Malt is low and supportive, providing a neutral, lightly bready backdrop. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters that blend seamlessly with the hop and fruit additions.
Taste. Explodes with high fruity hop and fruit flavors of passion fruit, papaya, and citrus. Malt flavor is low, primarily grainy and bready. Bitterness is low to medium-low, perceived as soft rather than sharp. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally juicy, with a lingering tropical aftertaste that avoids any harsh resin or hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. No harshness or astringency; features a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Smooth and satisfying without being cloying or overly viscous.
