A deep foundation of chocolate and charred grain malts supports the distinctive additions of blackcurrant and maple syrup. At 11% ABV, the alcohol warmth is significant but well-integrated, elevating the dark fruit esters and espresso-like bitterness. Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, dark tan head that shows moderate retention and leaves significant lacing. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring heavy roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Prominent notes of tart blackcurrant and dark fruit esters are complemented by a distinct, woody maple sweetness. Subtle earthy hops and a refined alcohol warmth are present in the background.

Taste. Initial impression of rich maple and dark cocoa, followed quickly by the sharp, acidic tang of blackcurrant. Malt flavors of espresso and burnt grain provide a firm roasted bitterness.
