Metalhead Metalworks - Grisette Rakau

Grisette 4.3 º 30 IBU
Metalhead Metalworks - Grisette Rakau is a vibrant, session-strength Saison that emphasizes a rustic, refreshing profile. Fermented with Blaugies saison yeast, it offers a sophisticated fermentation profile of cracked black pepper and soft pome fruit. The centerpiece is the Rakau dry hop addition, which infuses the beer with distinctive notes of ripe apricot, peach, and a hint of lime zest. Despite its lean 4.3% ABV, the inclusion of wheat provides a delicate, bready foundation and a soft mouthfeel. This highly attenuated ale finishes bone-dry with a lingering herbal snap, perfectly balancing the expressive New Zealand hops with traditional farmhouse yeast character.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-4 SRM) with a slight haze from the unfiltered yeast and wheat. It features a large, rocky, long-lasting white head that leaves significant Belgian lacing. Highly effervescent.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring a complex blend of fruity esters and spicy phenols. Notes of pear and apple from the Blaugies yeast mingle with dominant stone fruit aromas of apricot and peach from the Rakau dry hopping. A low, grainy, cracker-like malt sweetness is present alongside a hint of floral and citrus hop character.
Taste. The initial impression is crisp and refreshing with a light, grainy malt sweetness. Flavor is dominated by a peppery yeast spice and the stone fruit character of the Rakau hops, specifically peach and lime. Bitterness is moderate but assertive due to the very high attenuation and dry finish. The aftertaste is clean, dry, and slightly herbal.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a very high, prickly carbonation that creates an effervescent sensation. No alcohol warmth is perceived at this gravity. It possesses a slight softness from the grain bill but lacks any cloying sweetness or astringency.
