Metalhead Flower In the Desert is a bold Imperial Milkshake Sour that captures a vibrant tropical landscape. Dominated by lush, succulent mango and sharp, zesty lime, this high-gravity ale offers a complex interplay of exotic fruit intensity and creamy indulgence. The addition of vanilla provides a smooth, dessert-like counterpoint to the bright, lactic tang characteristic of a Wild Specialty Beer. At 9% ABV, it presents a substantial presence, balancing its refreshing acidity with a rich, velvety sweetness. This collaboration with Alchemik results in a deeply aromatic and textured experience where citrus zing and tropical fruit meld into a lingering, luxurious finish.

Appearance. Deep golden-orange with a heavy, opaque haze. The head is off-white and creamy, though it shows moderate to low retention typical of high-ABV fruited sours, leaving minimal lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with ripe, pulpy mango and fresh lime zest. A distinct creamy vanilla note softens the profile, layered over a sharp lactic acidity. Very low floral esters and a hint of doughy malt are present, but the fruit and wild fermentation characteristics dominate.

Taste. An immediate burst of tropical mango sweetness is balanced by a piercing lime tang. The mid-palate features a rich, milkshake-like sweetness from vanilla and lactose, which tempers the moderate lactic sourness. Hop bitterness is negligible. The finish is long and indulgent, transitioning from zesty citrus to a smooth, sweet vanilla aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a creamy, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the dessert-like weight. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth persists, with no significant astringency despite the high fruit concentration.
