This Imperial Smoked Porter presents a complex sensory landscape reminiscent of a summer barbecue. A rich foundation of chocolate and roasted malts is elevated by the deep, earthy smokiness of hickory and the leathery, dried-fruit heat of Morita Chipotle. The addition of honey provides a luxurious, lingering sweetness that balances the robust bitterness and the intense 12% alcohol presence. Expect a decadent, full-bodied experience where the warmth of the chili meets the charred, savory notes of a campfire, finishing with a smooth, spicy, and resonant malt character that remains balanced despite its high-octane strength.

Appearance. Very dark brown to near black (40 SRM) with deep garnet highlights when held to the light. It features a thick, creamy tan head with good retention and moderate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity roast aroma of dark chocolate and espresso, heavily layered with savory hickory smoke and the distinct earthy, leathery spice of Morita Chipotle. A rich, floral honey sweetness is evident, alongside moderate dark fruit esters and a clean but potent alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate and honey sweetness, quickly followed by a savory, wood-smoke character. The Morita Chipotle adds a mild, peppery heat that complements the medium-high bitterness. The finish is lingering and sweet-smoky, with a clean roasted malt aftertaste and no harsh acridity.

Mouthfeel. Full and viscous body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Significant alcohol warmth is felt, appropriate for the 12% ABV, with a very slight peppery astringency from the chipotle that remains well-integrated.
