Metalhead Blackened Sunrise is a decadent Imperial Stout that marries the deep intensity of roasted grains with luscious breakfast-inspired adjuncts. This pitch-black pour opens with a symphony of dark chocolate, rich espresso, and earthy maple syrup, further brightened by the zesty, citrus oils of fresh oranges. The maple syrup provides a persistent, velvety sweetness that rounds out the heavy roast, while the orange zest cuts through the viscosity with a vibrant, aromatic lift. At a robust 12% ABV, it offers a deep, warming finish characterized by burnt sugars and candied citrus, creating a complex, dessert-like harmony that remains smooth despite its immense strength.

Appearance. Opaque jet black (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, creamy, dark tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is evidenced by persistent legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by bittersweet chocolate and heavy roast, layered with rich, woody maple syrup. A prominent, bright citrus character from the oranges adds a fresh top note, supported by underlying dark fruit esters of plum and raisin.

Taste. Initial impression is a luxurious wave of sweet maple syrup and cocoa. The middle palate features intense roasted grain and espresso, balanced by the tangy essential oils of oranges. Bitterness is moderate but appears softer due to high residual sweetness. The finish is long and sweet with lingering notes of charred wood and citrus zest.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Low to moderate carbonation. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present, providing a comforting glow without harshness.
