This Double IPA radiates an intense, multi-layered hop profile driven by an advanced arsenal of Spectrum Mosaic, Cryo Citra, Mosaic Lupomax, and Vic Secret. The sensory experience is dominated by tropical fruit bursts and bright citrus notes, featuring a unique lime-zest lift from Motueka Sub Zero Hop Kief. A heavy addition of flaked oats transforms the texture, providing a smooth, creamy foundation that cushions the firm bitterness. Despite its depth, the beer maintains a clean, dry finish characteristic of the style, allowing the vibrant, resinous, and stone fruit hop complexity to shine through every sip.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7-9 SRM). Features a persistent, dense white head with excellent lacing. Shows a slight, characteristic haze from the significant oat addition and heavy dry-hopping.
Aroma. Intense and explosive hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passion fruit, mango, and lychee from Vic Secret and Mosaic. Bright grapefruit and lime oil citrus notes from Cryo Citra and Motueka are high, supported by a neutral, slightly grainy malt background. Very clean fermentation profile with a hint of alcohol sweetness.
Taste. High hop intensity follows the aroma with flavors of crushed pineapple, melon, and resinous pine. The malt provides a soft, unobtrusive support with faint cracker-like notes. Bitterness is firm and assertive but remains smooth without harshness. The finish is medium-dry and clean, leaving a lingering, vibrant tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and smooth texture from the flaked oats. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively prickle that balances the weight. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
