Menaud Érable reimagines the traditional Cream Ale as a liquid homage to Quebecois pouding chômeur. Infused with wild-harvested candy cap mushrooms from Charlevoix, the beer radiates an intoxicating perfume of maple syrup and burnt sugar. The nitrogen conditioning transforms the pour into a mesmerizing ivory cascade, resulting in a dense, velvet-like head. Despite the base style’s typically lean profile, this expression offers a richer, dessert-forward experience where the sweetness of maple and caramelized grain is harmonized by a clean fermentation. At 6.2% ABV, it provides a gentle warmth that complements its decadent, creamy texture and unique forest-derived aromatics.

Appearance. Pale gold with light amber highlights (5-7 SRM). Features a thick, creamy ivory head with exceptional retention and a distinct cascading effect. Brilliant clarity beneath the foam.

Aroma. High intensity of maple syrup, fenugreek, and brown sugar derived from the Lactarius helvus mushrooms. Underlying notes of sweet corn and crackery malt are present but secondary. Hop aroma is negligible, with a very clean fermentation profile and no significant esters.

Taste. Initial impression is of rich maple sponge cake and caramel. Low bitterness allows a dessert-like malty sweetness to lead. The specialty mushrooms provide a complex, savory-sweet depth reminiscent of dark syrup. The finish is lingering and sweet, with very low floral hop character providing only minimal balance.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body, significantly enhanced by nitrogen conditioning. Luxuriously creamy and smooth on the palate. Carbonation sensation is very low and soft. A light, integrated alcohol warmth is present.
