This farmhouse ale from Mekong Brewing Company offers a refreshing, herb-forward sensory experience. It opens with an inviting bouquet of fresh basil and soft honey, layered over classic Saison yeast notes of black pepper and pome fruit. The use of fresh grains provides a rustic, grainy foundation that supports a moderate hop bitterness. While a slight honey-led sweetness is present initially, the beer maintains its signature high attenuation for a crisp, effervescent finish. The basil remains harmonious throughout, never overshadowing the spicy fermentation character or the floral, earthy notes of the continental hops used during the boil.
Appearance. Radiant pale gold to light orange with a slight haze. It supports a thick, rocky, ivory head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves intricate Belgian lace on the glass. Effervescent carbonation is clearly visible.
