This unique blend utilizes the robust foundations of Belgian Dark Strong Ale and Imperial Stout to create a deep, multilayered sensory profile. The aroma is dominated by fresh raspberries and blackberries, underscored by a soft, sponge cake malt character and refined oak. On the palate, a delicate acidity balances the residual sweetness of the dark malts, showcasing intense red fruit flavors. The finish is long and complex, revealing the spiritous warmth of the brandy barrel alongside lingering berry notes and a velvety, well-aged structure.
Appearance. Deep ruby-brown to near-opaque ebony; pours with a dense, creamy, pink-tinted tan head that exhibits moderate lacing. Slight haze is expected due to the heavy fruit concentration and solera aging.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of jammy raspberry and tart blackberry; supportive malt notes of toasted biscuit and cake-like sweetness are present. Significant brandy-like spirit notes and vanilla oak mingle with subtle dark fruit esters from the Belgian yeast.
Taste. Initial impression is a bright, fruity tartness of raspberry and blackberry. This transitions into a rich malt core reminiscent of chocolate and sponge cake.
