NEIPA - New England IPA 6.5 º
This Hazy IPA radiates a vibrant character, driven by an explosive combination of Amarillo and Citra hops. The nose is dominated by sun-ripened citrus notes attributed to Amarillo, while Citra provides a deep well of tropical fruit aromatics. Built upon a lean malt base that provides structure without heavy sweetness, the palate reveals a subtle hint of peach. The beer offers a remarkably smooth bitterness and a soft, pillowy mouthfeel, leading into a clean, rewarding finish. It exemplifies the style's shift toward massive hop flavor and aromatic depth rather than aggressive, sharp bitterness.
Appearance. Straw to light amber (approx. 5 SRM) with an opaque, hazy glow. Features a medium, meringue-like white head with high retention and excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring dominant notes of grapefruit, tangerine, and mango from the Citra and Amarillo additions. Subtle stone fruit esters and a lean, grainy, bready malt background; free of caramel or toast.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with sun-ripened citrus and succulent peach. The malt is lean and neutral-grainy, providing a platform for the hops. Perceived bitterness is smooth and restrained, leading to an off-dry, clean finish without harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Subtle alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated at 6.5% ABV. No astringency.
