This cask-conditioned American Stout presents a refined sensory journey, emphasizing rich chocolate and buttery toffee notes within a sessionable 4.6% ABV frame. The pour is opaque and obsidian, crowned by a dense, tan foam typical of a hand-pulled serve. Aromatic layers of roasted coffee beans and dark cocoa mingle with a low, resinous hop character. On the palate, a bold roasted bitterness is balanced by indulgent chocolate malt sweetness, finishing dry with a lingering espresso quality. The cask conditioning lends a velvety, creamy texture that softens the roasted edge, making this a remarkably smooth and approachable dark winter ale.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (35-40 SRM) with a large, persistent light tan head that shows excellent retention and thick lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high roasted malt intensity featuring dark chocolate and roasted coffee bean notes. A subtle toffee sweetness is present, alongside a low resinous and citrusy hop character. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.

Taste. Initial impressions of bittersweet chocolate and toffee transition into a prominent roasted grain flavor. Hop bitterness is firm and moderate-high, supported by a low citrusy hop flavor. The finish is medium-dry with a clean, lingering roasted quality and no harsh acridity.
