This American IPA showcases a vibrant hop interplay driven by Talus, Chinook, and Amarillo. A lean base of Pilsner malt, Malteurop Wheat Malt, and Malteurop Crystal Wheat provides a crisp, slightly bready foundation that allows the hop character to radiate. Intense aromatics of grapefruit and bright tangerines lead the profile, while Talus contributes a distinctive floral quality reminiscent of scarlet begonias and rose petals. Chinook provides a grounding layer of resinous pine and spice. It finishes dry and clean with a firm bitterness, balancing luscious citrus oils against a smooth, wheat-enhanced texture and a lingering, resinous hop presence.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber (approx. 8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pithy grapefruit, sweet tangerine, and floral rose petals. Supporting layers of resinous pine and herbal spice from Chinook are present, backed by a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of orange peel and grapefruit zest. Mid-palate reveals a more complex floral and piney character. High bitterness is firm but not harsh, supported by a light bready malt backbone. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture derived from the wheat malts. Moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp, refreshing bite. A very light, clean alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated.
