Hop Stripe is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures a nostalgic, multi-layered fruit character reminiscent of tropical gum. The sensory profile is led by an intense, juicy blast of mango and pineapple driven by El Dorado and Azacca, while Citra adds a bright citrus punch and Topaz provides a subtle depth of tropical spice. A soft, grainy malt base supports this fruit forwardness without competing, allowing the brewer's intent for a luscious, fruit-driven sweetness to shine. It pours with a signature opaque glow and a dense, white head. The experience is exceptionally smooth, offering a pillowy finish with restrained, well-integrated bitterness.
Appearance. Deep straw to light amber (4-6 SRM) with a characteristically opaque, hazy brilliance. It supports a medium-sized, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit notes of mango, pineapple, and papaya. There are distinct layers of citrus, orange peel, and lime alongside a clean, lightly bready and grainy malt presence. Fermentation is neutral and clean.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of tropical fruit sweetness. High hop flavors of stone fruit and citrus mirror the aroma. Malt flavor is low, presenting as simple bread or neutral grain. Bitterness is moderate and smooth, never harsh. The balance is heavily skewed toward hop character with a medium, off-dry finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. The beer is remarkably smooth, lacking any astringency or raw starchiness.
