This Red IPA presents a striking balance between a rich, sweet malty core and a punchy hop profile. Aromas of resinous pine and bright citrus, characteristic of its American and New Zealand hops, lead the sensory experience. On the palate, a substantial malt backbone offering notes of caramel and toasted bread provides a smooth foundation for a solid, assertive bitterness. At 6.5% ABV, it carries a clean fermentation profile with a touch of warmth, concluding in a crisp, resinous finish that highlights the vibrant hop influence and the classic interplay between specialty malts and New World hop varieties.
Appearance. Deep copper to reddish-amber (SRM 14–17) with brilliant clarity. It features a persistent, off-white to light tan head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and tropical citrus. The malt profile is moderate, providing a supportive base of sweet caramel, light toffee, and toasted biscuits. Clean fermentation with no significant esters.
Taste. The initial impression is a balance of sweet caramel malt and assertive hop bitterness. Hop flavors of sticky pine and citrus pith dominate the mid-palate, supported by a medium malt body of toasty bread and dark honey. Bitterness is firm but well-integrated, leading to a medium-dry, lingering resinous finish with no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a crisp bite, while the 6.5% ABV contributes a very light, pleasant alcohol warmth. No astringency.
