This Double IPA delivers a powerful sensory experience defined by a complex dry-hop blend. Idaho 7 and Simcoe lead with vibrant notes of mango and passion fruit, while Chinook and Columbus provide a deep, resinous backbone of pine and grapefruit. The inclusion of hemp seeds introduces a subtle, earthy nuttiness that grounds the intense hop profile. A clean, neutral malt base allows the hops to remain the focal point, finishing dry with a lingering bitterness. At 8% ABV, a smooth alcohol warmth complements the bold tropical and forest-like aromatics, creating a balanced yet assertive example of the style.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper in color with a moderate-sized, persistent white head. Features good clarity despite the hemp seed addition, with fine carbonation visible.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent resinous pine, grapefruit, and dank earth, supported by tropical fruit notes of mango and stone fruit. Malt is neutral and secondary.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of citrus zest, pine, and tropical fruit. Moderately high bitterness is firm but clean. Very light grainy malt sweetness in the background, finishing dry and hoppy.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation with a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth that is appropriate for the strength.
