Marina Alta La Xareta presents a refreshing take on the classic Weissbier, blending traditional bready wheat textures with the unique, floral addition of organic heather flowers. This straw-colored ale pours with a characteristic natural turbidity from the mixture of barley and wheat malts, topped by a persistent, creamy head of small bubbles. The aroma leads with signature banana and clove yeast esters, subtly accented by a delicate, herbal honey-like note from the heather. On the palate, a soft doughy sweetness meets a crisp, effervescent finish. Appearance. SRM 3-5. Pale straw to light gold. Features a thick, moussy, and long-lasting cream-colored head with small bubbles and fine lacing. The beer is naturally hazy with a noticeable yeast and wheat protein turbidity.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Prominent yeast-derived esters of ripe banana and phenols of spicy clove. The malt character is bready, doughy, and grainy from the wheat. Distinctive but subtle floral and herbal notes from the heather flowers provide a unique aromatherapeutic layer, supported by very low spicy hop notes.
Taste. Initial impression is of soft, bready wheat and grainy-sweet malt. The fermentation character delivers balanced banana and clove flavors that dominate the mid-palate. Very low bitterness allows the malt and heather flowers to shine, offering a faint, honey-like herbal sweetness. The finish is relatively dry, clean, and highly refreshing with a short, crisp aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a fluffy, creamy fullness that never feels heavy. High carbonation provides an effervescent, spritzy quality. No alcohol warmth or astringency, leading to a smooth, elegant mouthfeel.
