This Belgian Dark Strong Ale, a collaboration between Marina and Het Nest, elevates the traditional Quadrupel framework with an adventurous botanical and hop profile. A deep malt backbone of dark caramel and toasted bread supports intense dark fruit esters of fig and plum. The integration of experimental HBC 472 hops introduces unique layers of oak, vanilla, and coconut, mimicking barrel-aged character. Complementary additions of hinojo and romero provide a distinct Mediterranean herbal lift, contributing notes of anise and resinous pine. At 10% ABV, it presents a smooth, warming complexity where the classic yeast-driven spiciness meets a modern, hop-forward evolution.

Appearance. Deep coppery-brown and clear. Crowned by a huge, dense, moussy, and persistent light tan-colored head with significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich maltiness features dark caramel and toasted bread. Deep fruit esters of raisins, prunes, and figs are prominent. HBC 472 hops contribute a distinct woody and vanilla-like character. Notes of hinojo and romero provide a subtle herbal, spicy, and slightly piney background.

Taste. Richly malty and complex with a moderately sweet start. Flavors of dark caramel and dried fruit blend with a unique woody, bourbon-like quality from the HBC 472 hops.
