This potent American Stout presents a deep, sensory-rich experience, anchored by its significant 10.5% ABV and the addition of 8-year-old Whisky. The presence of the spirit introduces a sophisticated layer of distilled grain and subtle oak that weaves through a heavy base of roasted chocolate malt. Despite its strength, the profile remains balanced, contrasting the inherent malt sweetness with the sharp, resinous edge of American hops and the warming presence of the whisky. The result is a robust, full-bodied ale where the decadent notes of dark cocoa meet the refined, barrel-aged complexity of the spirit, finishing with a lingering, powerful warmth.

Appearance. Jet black (40 SRM) and completely opaque. It supports a fine, persistent head of light brown foam with moderate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity featuring strong roasted chocolate and coffee notes. The 8-year-old whisky contributes a distinct distilled grain and light oak character, complemented by low citrusy hop notes and medium fruity esters. No acrid or sharp burnt qualities are present.

Taste. Initial impression is rich malt sweetness and bittersweet chocolate. Moderate to high roasted malt flavors dominate the mid-palate, supported by medium resiny hop flavor and a firm bitterness. The 8-year-old whisky is well-integrated, providing depth and a smooth spirituous character. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering cocoa and warm alcohol aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and somewhat creamy. Carbonation is medium-high. A moderately strong but smooth alcohol warmth is present, with minimal roast-derived astringency.
