Magpie Brewery’s Jay IPA delivers a refined English IPA experience centered on a harmonious balance between mature hops and supportive grain. The sensory journey begins with a distinctive citrus fruit nose, subtly layered with the floral and spicy-peppery notes characteristic of traditional British hops. On the palate, a medium-low bready malt foundation provides enough structure to carry the assertive bitterness without becoming heavy. The experience is defined by its excellent attenuation, resulting in a smooth, lingering hoppy aftertaste. At 5.2% ABV, it maintains a clean fermentation profile, allowing the interaction between the citrus hop oils and the biscuity malt to remain the focal point.
