Magic Road Pear & Lime Giveaway offers a refreshing, contemporary interpretation of the Berliner Weisse style. This effervescent ale leads with a sharp, clean lactic sourness that immediately awakens the palate. The aroma is a bright fusion of zesty lime and the delicate, floral sweetness of ripe pear, layered over a subtle base of doughy wheat malt and Pilsner malt. On the tongue, the lime’s citrus tartness is assertive, beautifully tempered by the succulent, rounded flavor of pear. It finishes exceptionally dry and crisp, with a sparkling carbonation that emphasizes its light, thirst-quenching character and vibrant fruit profile.

Appearance. Pours a very pale straw to light gold (approximately 3 SRM) with a noticeable haze from the fruit addition. It features a large, dense white head that dissipates quickly, which is characteristic of the style’s high acidity.

Aroma. High intensity of sharp lactic sourness and fresh fruit. Dominant notes of lime zest and lime juice are followed by a moderate, sweet orchard fruit character of pear. Low bready wheat malt is present in the background; no hop aroma or funky phenolics.

Taste. A clean, dominant lactic sourness defines the initial impression. Complementary flavors of fresh lime and soft pear skin transition into a grainy, doughy wheat malt middle. Hop bitterness is undetectable, with the tart acidity providing the necessary balance. The finish is bone-dry and crisp with a lingering citrus zest aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a very high, prickly carbonation level. The mouthfeel is defined by a crisp, refreshing acidity. Despite the 4.7% ABV, there is no perceptible alcohol warmth.
