Magic Road Mellow Yellow is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that showcases a sharp, refreshing citrus profile driven by the addition of Yuzu and Calamansi. At a sessionable 4.2% ABV, the sensory experience is dominated by the aromatic intensity of these exotic citrus fruits, offering notes of floral lime, bitter grapefruit, and sour tangerine. Beneath the citrus canopy, a delicate wild fermentation provides a rustic, slightly earthy funk and a crisp lactic tartness. This combination creates a complex yet approachable profile where the bright acidity of the Calamansi perfectly complements the subtle, leathery undertones of the wild yeast, finishing bone-dry and effervescent.

Appearance. Luminous pale yellow (3-4 SRM) with a slight, persistent haze. Pours with a thin, white head that dissipates quickly, leaving minimal lacing, consistent with the high acidity of a wild ale.

Aroma. High intensity citrus aromatics featuring the distinct floral and herbal notes of Yuzu combined with the sharp, acidic punch of Calamansi. Secondary notes of lemon zest, damp hay, and a light, peppery funk from the wild yeast. Malt presence is negligible, allowing the fruit and fermentation esters to lead.

Taste. The initial impression is a burst of tart citrus, mirroring the aroma with layers of lime, pithy grapefruit, and sour orange. The wild fermentation contributes a moderate lactic acidity that brightens the fruit flavors. Very low hop bitterness, with a clean, cracker-like malt base. The finish is remarkably dry and cleansing, with a lingering citrus zest aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Light-bodied and lean with high carbonation that provides a prickly, refreshing sensation. No alcohol warmth is perceived. A very slight pithy astringency from the citrus skins adds structure to the otherwise crisp and fluid texture.
