Magic Road

This Imperial Stout presents an indulgent sensory tapestry inspired by the addition of Sherry Pralines. The high-gravity base delivers an intense aroma of bittersweet chocolate and toasted nuts, interlaced with a sophisticated, vinous character reminiscent of fortified wine. Deep notes of black currant and prune emerge from the dark malts, while the 28 degrees Plato starting gravity provides a luscious, decadent sweetness. On the palate, a bold roasted grain presence balances the rich praline flavors, leading to a complex finish where dark fruit esters and a gentle, warming alcohol presence linger. It is a harmonious, full-bodied experience that prioritize depth and textural opulence.

Appearance. Opaque, jet black (40+ SRM) with a dense, persistent dark mocha head that leaves significant lacing. Thick, oily legs are visible upon swirling, indicating high viscosity and alcohol.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aromas of cocoa powder and dark-roasted coffee bean are complemented by nutty praline and caramel notes. A distinct vinous, sherry-like character adds layers of raisin, fig, and plum, with very low earthy hop notes.

Taste. Initial rich sweetness of chocolate and caramel gives way to intense roasted malt flavors. The mid-palate reveals toasted hazelnut and dark fruit complexity. A firm bitterness provides balance against the high residual sugar, finishing with a lingering, bittersweet chocolate aftertaste and smooth, refined warmth.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and viscous with a chewy, velvet-like texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, providing a creamy mouth-coating sensation. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present without being sharp or solventy.
