This Imperial Baltic Porter presents a profound depth of character, elevated by its extensive maturation in rum barrels. The "Darkness Within" reveals itself through a luxurious tapestry of molasses, dark chocolate, and toasted Munich malt, seamlessly interwoven with the spirited influence of the Caribbean. Expect rich layers of gold rum—offering notes of caramelized sugar, spiced oak, and vanilla—to heighten the inherent stone fruit esters of plum and black cherry. It is a sophisticated, warming liquid that balances the clean, smooth roast of a lagered porter with the decadent, boozy complexity of a high-gravity barrel-aged ale.

Appearance. Opaque dark brown to near-black in color (SRM 30+); topped with a thick, persistent, creamy tan head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity of rich maltiness featuring caramel, molasses, and deep toast. A complex ester profile suggests prunes, raisins, and cherries, complemented by a significant rum-derived aroma of vanilla and spicy oak. No hop aroma; fermentation is clean with a vinous, Port-like quality.
