This Wild Specialty Beer is a sophisticated transformation of the Liquid Cocaine DIPA, marrying the intensity of a high-gravity ale with the sharp precision of a barrel-aged sour. The sensory profile is dominated by a brilliant infusion of lemon zest, which pierces through the vinous, oak-forward character of the wine barrel aging. High-intensity citrus oils and tropical hop esters from its Double IPA lineage are balanced by a clean lactic tartness. The finish is remarkably dry and structured, showcasing a lingering interplay between resinous hop bitterness, pithy citrus, and subtle wood tannins, all supported by a well-integrated alcohol warmth.

Appearance. Deep gold to amber (7–12 SRM) with a slight, persistent haze. The off-white head has moderate to low retention, common for acidic and barrel-aged styles, leaving minimal lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh lemon zest and citrus pith. A clear vinous quality suggests white grapes and toasted oak, complemented by a sharp lactic acidity and subtle funky esters. Underlying malt notes are minimal, allowing the hop-derived citrus and tropical fruit to lead.

Taste. The initial impression is one of sharp acidity, followed by intense lemon and grapefruit flavors. A medium-low malt sweetness is quickly overtaken by firm hop bitterness and vinous oak tannins. The fermentation character is clean but complex, with the wine barrel influence providing a dry, grape-like finish that lingers with a resinous, citrusy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a crisp, refreshing quality despite the high gravity. Carbonation is moderate to high, enhancing the sharp acidic bite. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, accompanied by a light tannic astringency from the wood.
