MadCat Liquid Shine is a crystalline Cold IPA that showcases a masterful integration of modern Czech hop varieties. The sensory profile is led by Saaz Shine and Saaz Comfort, which contribute bright, zesty citrus notes, delicate floral aromatics, and a refined herbal spiciness. These are complemented by the Most hop variety, which adds a juicy depth of ripe apricot and stone fruit. The Fusion hop blend harmonizes these elements into a cohesive, hop-forward experience. With its lean malt profile and lager-like fermentation, this American IPA delivers a bone-dry, refreshing finish that emphasizes its vibrant hop character and exceptional drinkability.
Appearance. Light gold (5-6 SRM). Crystalline clarity with brilliant transparency. Moderate, bright white head with fine bubbles, excellent persistence, and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus zest, white flowers, and a hint of spicy noble-like character. Distinct stone fruit notes of apricot and peach emerge as it breathes. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop. Fermentation is extremely clean with no detectable esters.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of lemon peel, apricot, and herbal spice dominate from the first sip. Low, grainy, cracker-like malt flavor supports the hops without adding sweetness. Bitterness is firm and clean, consistent with the style. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, pleasant bitterness and a floral, fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, snappy texture. High carbonation levels provide a refreshing bite. Smooth mouthfeel with no astringency and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
