MadCat 2 Hops is a vibrant American Pale Ale designed to showcase the synergistic aromatic interplay of Citra and Idaho 7 hops. This duo delivers a saturated sensory profile where the bright grapefruit and tropical fruit notes of Citra merge seamlessly with the deeper apricot, stone fruit, and subtle piney resin characteristic of Idaho 7. A foundation of neutral pale malts provides a clean, supportive base with light toasted notes, ensuring the hop complexity remains the primary focal point. With its moderate strength and refreshing finish, the beer balances a firm bitterness with a clean fermentation profile, resulting in a highly drinkable, hop-forward experience.

Appearance. Pours a pale golden to light amber color (SRM 5-8) with excellent clarity. It is topped by a moderately large, off-white head with good retention and delicate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime, and mango from the Citra, alongside pineapple and a distinctive herbal pine and stone fruit character from the Idaho 7. Low grainy-sweet maltiness provides a supportive background with faint bready notes and a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. The palate follows the aroma with a burst of tropical fruit and citrus zest. Moderate to high hop bitterness is balanced by a low to moderate neutral malt backbone that suggests light biscuit and crackers. The Idaho 7 contributes a complex layer of apricot and resinous pine. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering hop flavor and a crisp, non-harsh bitterness.
