This New England Double IPA delivers an explosive sensory experience, driven by an intensive 25g per liter hopping rate. The aromatic profile is dominated by the synergistic impact of Citra, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops, offering a saturated bouquet of ripe passion fruit, zesty lime, and sweet mango. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer maintains a smooth, approachable character typical of the hazy sub-style. The use of Citra Spectrum enhances the oil-led citrus punch, while Galaxy contributes a distinctive peach and citrus undertone. Expect a velvety texture that cushions a firm but integrated bitterness, concluding with a clean, tropical-fruit-laden finish.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM) with a significant, persistent, off-white creamy head. In line with the New England style, the clarity is hazy to opaque with visible suspension.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit), citrus (tangerine, lime), and berry notes. Very low, neutral, crackery malt in the background. Clean fermentation profile with a soft, sweet alcohol note.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of lush tropical and stone fruit flavors, specifically peach, blueberry, and grapefruit. Malt flavor is low and bready, serving only to support the hop saturation. Bitterness is firm but lacks harshness, balanced by a soft water profile. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being solventy. Low astringency despite the massive hop load.
