Foglight V4 is a luminous, modern American Pale Ale that captures the soft, atmospheric essence of a New England-style brew. This iteration showcases the vibrant interplay of Riwaka and Idaho 7 hops, which lead the sensory experience with pungent notes of passionfruit and sun-ripened tangerine. Despite its sessionable 4.3% ABV, the beer offers a remarkably plush and juicy character. A subtle, bready malt foundation provides a clean canvas for the tropical hop oils to shine, while an exceptionally low bitterness ensures an approachable, fruit-forward profile. Appearance. Luminous pale straw to light gold (3–5 SRM). Displays a persistent, frothy white head with moderate lacing. The body is distinctly hazy to nearly opaque, reflecting its New England-inspired character.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromatics featuring Riwaka’s signature passionfruit and grapefruit zest alongside Idaho 7’s tangerine and tropical fruit notes. Low, neutral bready malt supports the hops. Very clean fermentation with no detectable esters or alcohol.
Taste. A soft, juicy explosion of tropical fruit flavors, primarily passionfruit and sweet tangerine. The malt character is light and crackery, providing just enough structure to balance the hops. Bitterness is very low and restrained, allowing the hop fruitiness to dominate. The finish is clean and refreshing with a lingering citrus zest.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a noticeably soft, silky, and slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate and smooth. No alcohol warmth is present, contributing to high drinkability without any harshness or astringency.
