Tokyo Kaiju presents a monstrously aromatic take on the West Coast Double IPA, defined by the aggressive infusion of yuzu. The sensory profile is a collision of sharp, floral citrus and deep resinous hop character. Poured brilliant gold, it offers an intense bouquet of grapefruit zest and pine needles. On the palate, the exotic yuzu adds a tart, drying complexity that elevates the high hop bitterness, while a lean malt backbone provides just enough structure to support the 9% ABV. The result is a high-impact, refreshing powerhouse that finishes bone-dry with a persistent, citrus-oil bitterness.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber (6–9 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Punchy yuzu citrus—reminiscent of lemon, grapefruit, and green mandarin—blends with resinous, piney, and floral hop notes. Low bready malt and a clean fermentation profile with a soft, well-integrated ethanol hint.

Taste. Assertive yuzu flavor leads, offering a tart, citrus-skin complexity. This is quickly followed by a firm, clean hop bitterness. Minimal caramel malt sweetness allows the sharp fruit and resinous pine to dominate. The finish is very dry and crisp with a long-lasting, bitter aftertaste of citrus zest and hop oils.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop and fruit oils. Moderate carbonation. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a pleasant glow without being harsh or hot.
