This Imperial Stout offers a decadent sensory journey, defined by its time in maple syrup barrels and the addition of Brazil nuts. The profile opens with a deep wave of dark chocolate and espresso roast, immediately met by a rich, buttery nuttiness. The Brazil nuts contribute distinct layers of almond and toasted coconut, seamlessly integrating with the woody sweetness of the maple barrel. At 10.75% ABV, the warmth is smooth and well-integrated, supporting a complex finish of black licorice and dried figs. It is a velvety, harmonious composition where the intense barrel character elevates the robust roasted grain foundation.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM) with high viscosity, visible as slow-moving legs on the glass. A thick, dark tan head provides moderate retention with creamy lacing.

Aroma. High intensity; a potent blend of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and rich maple syrup. Pronounced nutty aromas of Brazil nut, almond, and subtle coconut are layered over moderate esters of black currant and plum. Subtle oak tannins and a smooth alcohol warmth are present without solvent notes.

Taste. Initial impression of intense bittersweet chocolate and espresso roast. The mid-palate reveals buttery Brazil nuts and a woody maple sweetness. Bitterness is medium-high but balanced by the significant malt depth. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of black licorice, toasted nuts, and dried fruit.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present and well-integrated into the massive body.
