This indulgent Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory profile inspired by Risalamande. A massive wave of aromatic Vanilla leads the experience, doubling down on creamy sweetness that cushions the robust roast. The additions of Sour Cherry provide a bright, tart contrast to the deep bittersweet chocolate and coffee notes, while Almond contributes a delicate marzipan-like nuance. At 12.8% ABV, there is a smooth, sophisticated warmth that integrates with the velvety, viscous body. The result is a harmonious interplay between the charred grain of the base stout and the luxurious pastry-like layers of fruit and nut.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). A dense, persistent dark tan head leaves thick lacing on the glass. High viscosity is apparent through prominent legs.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich layers of bittersweet chocolate and espresso roast are immediately met by a dominant, creamy vanilla presence. Secondary notes of tart red cherries and toasted almond provide a festive complexity. Low earthy hop character is buried under esters of plum and dried fig.

Taste. Intensely flavorful. Initial sweetness of vanilla and caramel gives way to a complex blend of dark roasted grains and cocoa. The sour cherry adds a refreshing acidity that balances the residual sugar, while almond provides a nutty, marzipan depth. Moderate bitterness provides structure but is softened by the pastry elements. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of dark fruit and charred wood.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied and exceptionally chewy. The texture is luscious and velvety, bordering on syrupy. Moderate carbonation provides just enough lift to the heavy frame. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth glows in the throat.
