This complex blend offers a sophisticated sensory journey, merging the bready, honeyed foundation of a Wheatwine with the deep kettle caramelization and dried plum notes of a Wee Heavy. Barrel aging imparts a velvety texture and soft vanilla nuances, while the infusion of Black Tea provides an earthy, tannic structure that balances the malt's inherent sweetness. The addition of Bergamot elevates the profile with a bright, floral citrus lift reminiscent of Earl Grey tea. At nearly 10% ABV, it presents a warming, full-bodied sipper where wheat-driven richness meets the complex, aromatic layers of botanical and barrel-matured elements.
Appearance. Deep amber to garnet with ruby highlights; a low, creamy, off-white head with moderate retention. Noticeable viscosity and legs are visible on the glass when swirled.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex malt profile of honey, toasted bread, and rich caramel. Distinctive floral and citrus notes of bergamot are present, alongside earthy tea aromatics and a soft oaky, vanilla undertone from barrel aging.
Taste. Initial impressions of rich honey and dark toffee followed by a bready wheat core. The mid-palate features dried fruit esters and a prominent floral citrus character from the bergamot.
