As a collaboration with naïlo brewing co., it balances the robust char of dark malts with the fresh, herbal lift of mint. The underlying American Stout character provides a firm foundation of roasted coffee and bittersweet cocoa, while the fruit addition introduces a zesty, puckering edge that transforms the finish into something refreshingly complex and unexpected.
Appearance. Opaque jet black (SRM 40) with a large, persistent light tan head that leaves significant lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring moderate roasted coffee and rich dark chocolate. Distinctive cool peppermint notes intermingle with a sharp, tart berry fragrance. Low resiny hop notes are present but largely secondary to the adjuncts. No sharp or acrid burnt aromas.
Taste. Initial impression is a blend of dark chocolate and tart berries. High roasted malt flavors of espresso and bittersweet cocoa are prominent.
